Phutawen Farm, an agrotourism-oriented farm was opened to visitors on Saturday in the presence of Governor of Borikhamxay Province Kongkeo Xaysongkham, and representatives of local authorities.
The farm is located in Thaphabath district, a 2-hour drive from Vientiane.
The opening of Phutawen Farm aims to welcome Visit Laos Year 2018 and promote sustainable food production and agro-tourism in the Lao PDR, said Phutaven Farm Director Dalounny Douangpaseuth.
Visitors can enjoy a combination of agriculture and nature, watching blossoming sunflowers and cosmos fields, as well as picking and buying fresh vegetables, including, among others, tomatoes, leafy vegetable, and cucumbers.
They can also enjoy farm tours, cycling, and camping.
As for this year, we expect that one million visitors will visit our farm every month between December 2017 and March 2018, said Ms Dalounny.
Entrance fee will be 15,000 kip for weekday visitors and 25,000 kip for weekend outdoor goers.
