On the sidelines of the China-ASEAN Information Harbor Forum held last week in Guangxi’s Nanning, China, ASEAN Technology Company (Laos) and CRI Online (Beijing) of China Media Group signed a strategic MoU to strengthen cooperation on content, technology and management of an information port platform.
The cooperation is based on the joint statement made by the presidents of the two countries in 2017 to attach importance to and deepen the cooperation between Laos and China, further tapping the potentials of cooperation and raising the level of cooperation.
Under the MoU, both parties will give full play to their respective local resource advantages and the technologies of the Internet and media integration to promote multilateral media information cooperation and jointly make the platform as an online platform for China-ASEAN information technology transfer and cultural tourism exchanges.
Held between Sep 11 – 12, the China-ASEAN Information Harbor Forum was jointly organized by the Cyberspace Administration of China and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to promote the Silk Road project and an information highway to connect China and the ASEAN members.
On behalf of the Lao government, Deputy Minister of Information Culture and Tourism Savankhone Razmountry attended the forum and delivered speech.
The Lao delegation included Director General and Editor-in-Chief of Lao Press in Foreign Languages Mr. Thonglor Duangsavanh, Deputy Director General of Lao National Television Mr. Thongvanh Bounbouathong, Head of Administrative Division of the Lao News Agency Mr. Noulap Simmaly, General Manager of ASEAN Technology Ms. Zhao.
