Bacolod cops seize over P3-M shabu

Operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized more than PHP3 million in illegal drugs in week-long operations, including the PHP1.394 million recovered from a lone suspect Tuesday morning.

A buy-bust at almost 1 a.m. led to the arrest of alias ‘Lando’ at his residence in Purok San Jose 2, Barangay Sum-ag.

The high-value drug personality yielded about 205 grams of shabu pegged at PHP6,800 per gram, according to the report of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).

‘This arrest reflects the continued dedication of the BCPO in eradicating illegal drugs from the community,’ Col. Joeresty Coronica, police city director, said in a statement.

From Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, eight operations were conducted that led to the recovery of PHP1.659 million in shabu, including four major drug hauls.

On Oct. 3, suspect alias ‘Inday,’ 21, was arrested in a buy-bust in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago.

Operatives of CDEU found in her possession 80 grams of shabu worth PHP544,000, the police report said.

In Barangay Mansi
lingan, alias ‘Jefferson’ was collared by operatives of Police Station 7 in Purok Kahirup A on Oct. 2.

The suspect yielded about 15 grams of shabu valued at PHP102,000.

On Oct. 1, suspect alias ‘Toto’ was arrested during a buy-bust in Purok Magti-ayon, Barangay 10.

About 50 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP340,000 were found in his possession.

The CDEU also arrested alias ‘Negro’, 31, who yielded 70 grams of shabu valued at PHP476,000 during an operation in Barangay Tangub on Sept. 30.
