Band Of Life Attracts Crowded Audience

(KPL) Saturday’s performances by the U.S band – Oscar Williams and The Band of Life � have attracted a large audience of young people, families and local fans in Vientiane Capital.

The Embassy of the United States of America in the Lao PDR held on Saturday’s night ‘America Music Festival’ at the National Culture Hall to promote mutual understanding and cultural exchange between Laos and the U.S.

I am very happy and exited to organize this event. This is the first America Festal ever held in Laos and I saw the excellent performance where Lao students featured with the American, said U.S Ambassador to Laos, Ms Rena Bitter.

“Tonight concert is for flood victims in southern Laos and we hope that the songs will give them courage,” said U.S Ambassador to Laos, Ms Rena Bitter.

Oscar Williams and The Band of Life is a group of professional singers who have dedicated their lives to enhancing the world through the singing of Gospel music and music that inspires.

Oscar Williams formed the band in 2000 and they have travelled extensively through the United States, South America, Europe and parts of Asia. Their freshman CD, Unstoppable, charted on billboard’s top 40 Gospel albums in its first week.

Aluna and Olaa Blaceyes joined the performances.

Fanglao and students from the National School of Music and Dance also entertained the audience with their performances.

Taking photos of U.S’ well-known replicas, eating American food, and colouring were among favourite activities of the festival.
