MANILA: Gokongwei-led airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) will launch direct flights between Cebu and Osaka, Japan beginning Oct. 15, becoming the first local carrier to offer services to the Japanese City via Cebu.
CEB will operate four weekly flights between Cebu and Narita, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
“With Japan being a top-of-mind destination for many Filipino travelers, the new route will surely give them the opportunity to visit one of the country’s dynamic cities,” CEB president Xander Lao said in a statement on Monday.
He said CEB hopes the new route can encourage more travelers from Japan to explore the beauty of the Philippines.
Currently, CEB offers daily flights to Narita via Cebu.
Meanwhile, travelers could avail of the Cebu-Osaka flight for as low as low as PHP1 base fare, exclusive of fees and surcharges, until July 31.
The travel period is from Oct. 15 to March 31, 2025, CEB said.
