Champassak Province has the ambitious plan to collect revenue of 1.36 trillion kip this year. This will be an increase from the 1.19 trillion kip in revenue that was collected last year.
The Head of the Champassak Provincial Administration Office Mr. Boualy Phetsongkham said last week that last year the per capita gross domestic product (GDP) of Champassak Province was more than 19 million or US$2,400, representing an increase of 8.11 per cent as compared to the year before with value added production estimated at 14 trillion kip (over US$1.7 billion).
Production in the agriculture and forestry sector increased by 2.3%, industry by 10%, and services by 10.3%.
The southern province recorded exports worth US$184 million and imports worth US$178 million. Meanwhile it spent over 1.8 trillion kip on socio-economic and rural development.
