The southern province of Champassak issued on Tuesday a new notice to tighten anti-Covid-19 measures following the confirmation of the first Covid-19 infection case in the province on Jan 20.
The case has been identified as a 33-year-old woman, a returning worker from Thailand.
Under the new notice, concerts and night parties are banned as cockfighting rings, snooker venues and entertainment venues are closed along with karaoke shops, games shops. Community sports events are not allowed unless one-metre social distancing is observed.
Traditional celebrations and wedding parties can be held as long as they are for a small number of participants, in thrifty style, and observe fine traditions of the country.
Across the country, there are 44 cumulative cases of Covid-19 infection including 41 recoveries and three active cases.
