China Prepares To Celebrate 70th National Day

(KPL) The government of China announced this week that on the 1st of October 2019 it will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Over 100,000 people are expected to take part in a mass pageantry at Tiananmen Square, Beijing. No foreign troops will join the parade this year.

On Oct 24, Chinese senior officials hosted a press conference on the celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of China in Beijing. The press conference was attended by over 200 Chinese and foreign journalists.

Ning Jizhe, Deputy Head, National Development and Reform Commission of China, disclosed that the founding of the People’s Republic of China on the 1st of October 1949 is a major event in the history of the Chinese national and human development.

Over the past 70 years, the Communist Party of China has united and led the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country to rise up to difficulties to forge ahead, strive to move forward with perseverance, achieving tremendous development of the economy and society of China.

China has achieved a leap forward in a journey from standing up to growing rich and becoming strong as China’s GDP has leaped from 67.91 billion yuan in 1952 to 90.03 trillion yuan in 2018, an increase of 174 times in real terms, accounting for nearly 16% of the world economy. Per Capita GDP has improved from 119 yuan to 64,600 yuan.

The mileage of railways in service reached 132,000 km, the mileage of high-speed railways reached 30,000 km ranking the second and first in the world respectively. Nearly 80 million new jobs in cities and towns were created, and over 80 million of population living in rural areas have been alleviated from poverty.

China’s official data suggested that within just four decades, China has lifted around 750 million people above the poverty line. Since 2003, China has signed 17 free trade agreements with 25 countries and regions and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has gained supports from over 160 countries around the world.

China’s Huawei technology including 5G, smartphones, and other digital devices have been advanced very modernly and influenced people around the world, and China is also preparing to host the Olympic Games in 2022.
