Chinese city Pu’er to fund 200-bed quarantine centre construction in Phongsaly

The Puer authority has agreed to provide grants for the construction of a 200-bed Covid-19 quarantine centre in Phongsaly.

The construction to be conducted in Yod-u district, Phongsaly Province is expected to be completed within two months.

The financial grant was promised at a meeting between Phongsaly authority and Pu’er City authority in Phonsaly Province on Wednesday.

The meeting aimed to discuss prevention and control measures against Covid-19, especially along the Laos

The Chinese side also pledged to send medical team to help monitor and inspect the Covid-19 situation until the pandemic subsides, and provide Covid-19 vaccines to the northern province of Laos.

Phongsaly authority’s delegation to the meeting was led by Head of the Provincial Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control Khamlek Chai-Isan as the Chinese side was headed by Vice Mayor of Jiangshan District Go Zhunhua.
