The Mother and Children Hospital plans to build a new Consulting Centre for Difficult Pregnancy Status in accordance with the development plan of the hospital.

The hospital has built a laboratory complex installed with modern systems to provide consultation and services for women who have difficult pregnancies. The centre is expected to be completed in 2018, according to Dr Sivongxay Chanthavongsack, General Director of Mother and Children Hospital.

The Mother and Children Hospital was established in 1993 to provide medical care to pregnant women and children across the country. In the beginning, the hospital had only 70 beds but currently has 150 beds.

The hospital will expand patient rooms and beds to 250-300, Dr Sivongxay added.
