Havana: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro declared that Cuba has deservedly earned the right to choose its developmental path in peace and freedom. His statement came amidst widespread international support for Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly, where 187 countries voted to demand the lifting of U.S. sanctions against the Caribbean nation.
According to Lao News Agency, President Maduro expressed his solidarity with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Army General Raúl Castro, committing to continue efforts to find solutions that lead to the well-being of both nations. Maduro emphasized the possibility of creating a new world built by free people.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil echoed Maduro’s sentiments, highlighting the global rejection of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba. Gil stated that the United States faces increasing isolation due to its colonial practices, which have persisted for over six decades.
