Laos has confirmed 1,306 new Covid-19 cases and six fatalities over the previous 24 hours bringing the total in the country to 56,324 including 10,610 active cases and 110 deaths, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Of the new cases, 1,290 were classified as domestic infections with 597 recorded in Vientiane, 201 in Luang Prabang, 121 in Phongsaly and 110 in Vientiane (province).

Meanwhile, 62 domestic infections were reported in Xayaboury, 57 in Bokeo, 39 in Champassak and 26 in Borikhamxay.

Sixteen imported cases were documented with nine in Vientiane, four in Savannakhet, two in Khammuan and one in Saravan.

Some 468 were discharged from hospital yesterday.
