The golf competition Dansavanh Amateur Open 2018 with the trophy of the Minister of Education and Sports as a prize kicked off at the Dansavanh Nam Ngum Resort in Vientiane province on Saturday.
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Boualane Siripanya, and Chief Executive Director of Dansavanh Nam Ngum Resort Won Chwin Kye.
The two-day golf competition withnessed Mr Thammasack Bouahoum as the winner of stroke play category and Ms Soymayhua as the winner of handicap category A and Mr Sinnumkhoun as the winner of handicap category B.
The top place in the handicap category C was won by Mr Soutthiphon Xayavongsone and that of VIP category belonged to Mr Souvanh Vilayseng.
The objective of the competition was also to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Lao people’s Army, promote the development of local amateur golfers, and select the best golf players for the coming 11th National Games, to be held in November 2018 in Xieng Khuang as well as promote Visit Laos Year 2018, according to Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Boualane Siripanya.
There were 68 golfers jointed the 1st Dansavanh Amateur Open 2018, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Sports, National Golf Federation, Dansavanh Nam Ngum Resort and Dansavanh Golf Club.
