Four provincial Red Cross offices presented ambulances

On Mar 25, Lao Red Cross Society presented ambulances to its provincial branches in Attapeu, Saravan, Luang Prabang and Bokeo to be used for rescue purposes in the provinces.

The handover took place between President of the Lao Red Cross Phouthone Meuangpak and representatives of the provincial offices of Lao Red Cross in the presence of representatives of relevant authorities.

“Rescue is among key activities of the Lao Red Cross that need to be promoted to ensure rescue services are provided in a prompt and voluntary manner. In the future, the Lao Red Cross Society will expand its network of Rescue Team 1625 to competent provinces,” said Lao Red Cross President Phouthone Meuangpak. “These ambulances have been donated by the ASA Foundation of the Republic of Korea and they are worth 150,000 US dollars, and today is the first time for Saravan and Attapeu to receive an ambulance so that they can establish their own rescue teams.

Nationwide, Lao Red Cross rescue team 1625 has conducted 640 rescue operations in the first three months of 2022.
