(KPL) The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs sponsored a three-week training course on Project Proposal Writing and Presentation for 19 Lao government officials from Jul 29 to Aug 16.
The course, held at the Laos-Singapore Cooperation Centre in Vientiane, was conducted by Mr Abdul Razak Bin Ahmad from Globalab, Singapore.
The course was aimed at providing participants with the ability to appreciate the importance of good project design that is aligned to state goals, understand and practice the fundamentals of project formulation that impact project proposals, understand the principles of good professional writing, acquire professional presentation skills that could effectively seek buy-ins and approvals for the project.
The course was conducted under the auspices of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI). Under the IAI, Singapore conducts 20 to 30 courses a year at the Lao-Singapore Cooperation Centre, focusing on areas of public governance, finance, urban management, hospitality and tourism, civil aviation, as well as IT skills and the English Language.
About 600 Lao officials are trained each year and to-date, more than 13,000 Lao government officials have benefited from the Ministry’s various training programmes under the Singapore Cooperation Programme since 1993.
