In efforts to strengthen the relationship among members of the International Women’s Club of Brunei (IWCB), a morning coffee session was held for its honorary members from the diplomatic corps and its committee members, located at the Radisson Hotel in the capital.
Present at the event were honorary members, High Commissioner of Canada to Brunei Darussalam, H. E. Marina B Laker, Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, Haznah binti Mohd Hashim, and ladies of the diplomatic corps, who were greeted by Ungku Datin Hajah Fanzah binti Ungku Haji Osman, President and founder of IWCB and Dyna Tan, Vice-President of IWCB.
The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the president of IWCB, who highlighted the objectives of the club in promoting the development of social, charitable and cultural activities, as well as strengthening the relations amongst its local and expatriate members.
Those present at the event included representatives from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Thailand.
The IWCB was formed in 1988 by Ungku Datin Hajah Fanzah, as a platform for establishing friendship and exchange of culture among the IWCB members (which currently consists of 16 members) and they have successfully been involved in various charitable work such as “the typhoon fund and the Nepal humanitarian fund”, said the President of IWCB.
A total of 30 guests were present at the event. Bruneians and expatriates are welcome to join the International Women’s Club of Brunei.
