Japan’s Uni. Studies If Xieng Khuang Is Ready for Its Renewable Energy Technology

A delegation of Tokai University, Japan, led by Prof. Kazuichi Seki is on a visit to Xieng Khuang to study the possible application of its generators using renewable energy source windpower in the northern Laos province.

If the study findings suggest that the province is suitable for the application of such technology, Xieng Khuang witll be the first province in Laos to have such modern technology applied as grant assistance from the university.

The generator is reportedly able to generate electricity for 10 households.

On Monday, Jan 29, Prof. Kazuichi Seki and his entourage met with Xieng Khuang Governor Bouasone Sinouanthong at the Xieng Khuang Provincial Administration Office.

At the bilateral talks, the provincial governor briefed the guest and his delegation about the socio-economic development in Xieng Khuang Province over the past years and expressed gratitude to the university as well as to the Japanese people and government for their generous assistance to the province for a long time.

Previously, Tokai University provided one fire truck to Xieng Khuang Province.

The governor also expressed his hope that the university will continue to provide assistance to Xieng Khuang Province in the future.
