JICA provides JPY2.1 billion to help NUOL develop competent engineers

On Mar 25, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed an agreement to grant JPY 2.1 billion (approx US$17.2 million) to the government of Laos to support the development of engineers through upgrading lab facilities and equipment of the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos.

The agreement was signed by JICA Laos Chief Resident Representative Nagase Toshio and Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Planning and Investment Sisomboune Ounavong.

The grant project aims to improve educational environment and research of the faculty by upgrading its basic infrastructure and capacity building to produce engineers that meet requirements of local industries in the Lao PDR.
