The Korea Press Foundation Journalism Conference 2017 took place under the theme Future of News Media: Platform, Trust and Innovation in Seoul, Republic of Korea on Nov 13-14, 2017.
At the meeting, editors and journalists from Australia, Bulgaria, Cambodia, England, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Philippine, Vietnam, Thailand, Italy and Portugal were encouraged to exchange journalism experiences and deepen their cooperation.
Before this conference, Korea journalists participated in similar conferences organised abroad but there were limited opportunities to talk about Korea journalism development. We just learned about the best cases from other countries. It would be better if we host an international conference in Korea, which can better promote the Korean journalism development. We wanted to facilitate exchange between Korea and other countries and how to develop journalism industry and apply the new technology to the journalism, said Executive Director News Media Promotion Department Kim Nang Ki.
The conference is very important because the topic platform, trust and innovation is beneficial to journalists as Korean and foreign journalists have exchanged experiences with experts from different countries thus strengthening the cooperation between Korea journalists and their fellow journalists in other countries, said Ki.
