KSI Strategic Institute to Hold Two International Events in Cambodia This Year


KSI Strategic Institute has initiated to hold two international events – Global Chinese Economic and Technology Summit (GCET) 2024 and Asia Economic and Entrepreneurship Summit (AEES) 2024 in Cambodia.

Visiting Mr. Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, President of KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, unveiled the plan during a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.

These are opportunities to attract investors in ASEAN and around the world to learn about investment potential in Cambodia, he stressed.

Mr. Tan Sri Michael Yeoh also informed Samdech Thipadei of his plan to expand investment in Cambodia, especially in the fields of agriculture, biomass, financial technology, and digital, as well as the establishment of the World Digital Chamber and ASEAN Economic Club in Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister welcomed the organisation of the two summits in Cambodia and advised KSI Strategic Institute to hold
further discussions with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions. He also accepted Mr. Tan Sri Michael Yeoh’s invitation to preside over and give keynote speeches at both events.

Regarding the promotion of investment in financial technology and digital sector, Samdech Thipadei said that the National Bank of Cambodia, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and relevant ministries and institutions, has been working to promote the development of technology to integrate the Cambodian economy into a digital economy.

The Prime Minister highlighted the Royal Government’s recent initiatives such as the establishment of a Trade Policy Advisory Board to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of trade policies, and welcomed comments and input from KSI Strategic Institute.

Moreover, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to continue to maintain peace, political stability and investment environment, as well as develop strategic trade plans in both bilateral and
multilateral frameworks to ensure opportunities and maintain Cambodia’s competitiveness in the regional and the world.
