Lao Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vilavan Yiaporher on Feb 7 presented her credentials to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to serve as Ambassador of the Lao PDR to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Vilavan Yiaporher is based in Moscow, the Russian Federation.

The Azerbaijan President appreciated the ambassador for her diplomatic appointment and highly valued the relations and cooperation between Laos and Azerbaijan especially in areas of politics.

However, the host mentioned that the bilateral cooperation on economy, trade, investment and tourism is yet to be properly promoted by the two countries.

He expected that the bilateral cooperation in the aforementioned areas will be better promoted during the ambassador’s diplomatic tenure.

In reply, Ambassador Vilavan Yiaporher conveyed to the Azerbaijan President the warm greetings and best wishes from his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith.

She assured the host that the Lao Government highly valued and agreed to further enhance the relations and cooperation on economy, trade, investment and tourism with Azerbaijan.

The ambassador also assured the Azerbaijan President that she would do her utmost to strengthen the diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Laos and Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations on May 22, 1995.
