Mr Kham-in Khitchadeth presented his letter of credentials to Director General of the World Trade Organisation Roberto AzevA�do last week, to serve as the Lao Ambassador to the WTO in Geneva, Switzerland.
During the talks with the new ambassador, the Director General of the WTO Roberto AzevA�do said that he highly valued the cooperation between WTO and Laos.
In reply, Mr Khamin expressed his honor to be appointed as the Lao Ambassador to the WTO and assured the host that he would do his utmost to strengthen the relations and cooperation between the Lao PDR and WTO and the latter’s support to the Lao PDR.
Both sides also exchanged points of view of common interest on trade and economic development in regional and international arenas.
Mr Khamin asked the WTO to continue to provide technical assistance to Laos and other least developed countries.
