(KPL) A Night Party to kick off Lao Fashion Week 2019 and celebrate the 6TH anniversary of the sparkling event attracted a crowd of people involved in the fashion industry.
Lao and foreign officials, Lao celebrities, models, designers, sponsors and special guests attended the event. Held at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane, Lao Fashion Week 2019 will last through Sep 13 and feature a range of collections and styles from both Lao and foreign designers.
More than 50 leading fashion designers showcase their latest collections on runway including 30 leading ones from the international stage, according to Ms Pany Saignavong, Founder � CEO of Lao Fashion Week and Lao Young Designers Project.
Celebrating its 6th anniversary this year, Lao Fashion Week, no doubt is known as the most important and most prestigious international fashion event in Laos, which has created professional platforms for Lao fashion designers to meet and establish networks with well known designers from the international stage, said Ms Pany Saignavong.
There will be more than ten designers per night showcasing their masterpieces and latest collections to more than three hundred guests at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel (8-9 pm).
This year, Lao Fashion Week 2019 also showcases 3 special collections including MODE LAOS- a collection from LAO-FRANCO-GEMAN Cultural project to have 3 young designers from Laos, France and Germany working on their capsule collections from textiles; ‘FASHION FOR All’ � a humanitarian programme of Lao Fashion Week where 5 young designers from Lao Young Designers Project work closely with members of Xon Phao (ethnic) Disable People Working Group to produce a mini collection and ‘KRONEBOURG 1664’s SPECIAL COLLECTION’ where 3 young designers of Lao Young designers Project create 3 capsule collections in association with Kronenbourg 1664 Brand Concept.
Designers Pop-Up Store, where products from various designers will showcase and on sale to general public from 10 am -10 pm 9-13 September 2019 at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel. Ten per cent of the sales revenue will proceed to support Lao Young designers Project and addition 10% will be donated to help flood victims in southern provinces.
In additions, TALKING FASHION workshop featuring professionals from fashion and business sectors took place on Sep 11 and is open to general public.
