(KPL) The government of Japan announced foreign recipients of the 2018 Autumn Imperial Decorations including Mr. Khemsath Philaphandeth, President of KP Co., Ltd and the Lao Judo Federation.
Mr. Khemsath, who is former President of Lao Toyota Service Co., Ltd, will be awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays withRosette, in recognition of his significant contribution to strengthening economic exchange between Japan and the Lao PDR, as well as promoting Budo in the Lao PDR.
Mr. Khemsath was born in 1950. After graduating from Kinki University in Japan in 1974, he started his career as a business person, working with many Japanese companies. In 1992, he became the president of Lao Toyota Service Co., Ltd and facilitated business partnership between Japan and Laos by establishing a strong brand of quality Japanese cars and good services in the Lao PDR and by promoting various joint ventures.
He has promoted Judo for many years and has been president of the Lao Judo Federation since 2004. In 2012 he received H.R.H the Crown Prince of Japan, who paid an official visit to the Lao PDR, and gave him a demonstration of their Budo skills at the Budo Center in Vientiane.
In addition to this, in 2014 he received a Certificate of Commendation from the Japanese Foreign Minister, in recognition of his valuable contribution to promoting friendship and deepening mutual understanding between Japanese and Lao people, through the promotion of Judo in the Lao PDR.
