Lao Students Hold Friendship Games in Kunming

A friendship sports competition was held last week in Kunming City, Yunnan province, China in order to welcome the upcoming public organisations’ meeting.

Lao Consul in Kunming Khamphone Vongsanti and his members also attended the event.

On the occasion, Mr Khamphone spoke to all students before the competition and raised the important of public organisation as well as the achievements made over the past years.

The most important thing for the event is to gather all students here to further solidarity, friendship and exchange lessons, Mr Khamphone said.

He called for the Lao student association to create an event like this every year and added that the Lao General Consulate is ready to fully support them with aims to strengthen solidarity among students from every university in Kunming.

The friendship sport competition included football, badminton and a tug-of-war

There were 13 teams representing each university that attended the football competition. The winning football team received a prize worth 600 Yuan (US$ 88) and the tug-of-war winners received 300 Yuan from Lao General Consulate.

In addition, representative of Lao Airlines in Kunming Airtam Vongphachanh gave 4 two-way flight tickets from Kunming-Vientiane to the first and second badminton winners
