The Lao-Thai High Tech Company on Wednesday donated clothing and educational equipment worth more than 60 million kip (over US$7,000) to poor people and children in rural areas in Vientiane Capital and Vientiane Province.
The items, which included 1,500 blankets and 6,700 articles of clothing, were presented through the Foundation for Education Promotion in Vientiane.
The clothing and educational equipment were presented by representative of the Lao-Thai High Tech Company Mr Chumrong Jenthanakith to President of Foundation for Education Promotion Mr Somphien Sayadeth in the presence of relevant officials.
Mr Somphien said that the clothes and equipment would be further donated to poor people and students in rural areas of five districts in Vientiane Capital and Phonhong district in Vientiane Province, aiming to help them better cope with the cooler weather and promote education in the country.
Mr Sompghien expressed his appreciation to the Lao-Thai High Tech Company for its great assistance to the Lao people.
