Laos, Algeria Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation


Vice President of the National Assembly, Mr. Khambay Damlath, met with Mr. Monder Bouden, Vice President of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria, on October 19 in Vientiane.

Mr. Khambay expressed his appreciation for Mr. Monder Bouden and his delegation’s visit to the Lao PDR to attend the 45th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) General Assembly in Vientiane, noting that their participation encourages and supports Laos in fulfilling its international obligations as host of the AIPA General Assembly 2024.

The National Assemblies of Laos and Algeria have long exchanged greetings on important national occasions and have cooperated and supported each other in regional and international parliamentary forums, including AIPA, the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and other organizations.

Looking ahead, both sides emphasized their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. This includes the continued exchange of visits by high-ranking delegation
s, committees, secretaries, and parliamentary friendship committees of the two countries.

They also plan to jointly organize seminars, study tours, and meetings-both in-person and virtually-while continuing to exchange views and support each other in regional and international parliamentary forums.
