(KPL) Prime Minister Mr Thongloun Sisoulith and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam have highly valued the friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and Brunei Darussalam.
Both sides have noted that the relations and cooperation between the two countries have been strengthened over the past 25 years.
Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and his high-ranking delegation visited Brunei Darussalam on Feb 16-17 in response to the invitation of Brunei King Haji Hassanal Bolkiah to further enhance the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
At a bilateral meeting, held shortly after an official welcome ceremony held in honour of Prime Minister Thongloun on Feb 16, both sides discussed cooperation in various fields such as economic cooperation, education, culture and tourism, and exchanged each other points of view on regional and international issues of common interest.
PM Thonglon expressed gratitude to the government of Brunei and people for providing relief aid to flood victims in Attapeu Province, southern Laos in 2018.
After the meeting, the two leaders also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on education cooperation between the Ministries of Education of the two countries.
A meeting was also held on the sidelines of the official visit between Lao and Brunei businessmen where the representatives of business community of the two countries discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and increase the exchange of economic information.
