Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sengphet Houngbounyuang, accompanied by other senior officials signed on May 25 at the British Embassy in Vientiane a book of condolences over the tragic incident occurred in Manchester, England in the evening of May 22.
Mr. Sengphet Houngbounyuang wrote: We have learned with profound sadness over the tragic incident occurred in the evening of May 22, 2017 in Manchester, United Kingdom and North Ireland following the bomb explosion which killed 22 people and injured 59 people.
On behalf of the government and people of the Lao PDR, we could like to express our deep condolences and sympathy to the governments of the United Kingdom and North Ireland and the people of the United Kingdom as well as the bereaved families of the victims affected by this attack.
The Lao PDR strongly condemns such terrorist act against the United Kingdom and North Ireland and is ready to cooperate with the international community in combating all forms of terrorism.
