(KPL) Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khamphao Ernthavanh representing the government of the Lao PDR signed a book of condolences for former Malaysian King Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar who passed away on May 22 at the age of 88.
His Majesty was the Seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 1979 to 1984.
Heartfelt condolences were also conveyed by members of the diplomatic corps, international organisations as well as Malaysians residing and working in the Lao PDR.
On behalf of the government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, we would like to express our deepest condolences of the passing away of the late Majesty Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’adzam Shah, the Seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and the former ruler of the State of Pahang, the deputy minister wrote. We would like to share this moment of sadness and sympathy with the government and people of Malaysia, particularly with the royal family members and relatives of His Majesty. May His Majesty’s soul rest in peace.
