Laos Expresses Condolences Over Pham Van Khai’s Passing

The Party Central Committee, National Assembly, government, and Lao Front for National Development have expressed condolences over the passing of former Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Van Khai.

In a telegram of condolences, dated March 18, 2018, the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, government, and Lao Front for National Development said:

The death of comrade Pham Van Khai is not only the loss of beloved leader for the Party, government and people of Vietnam but also the loss of close friend for our Party, government and people in Laos.

During this time of sadness, let the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Lao Front for National Construction share sadness with and to convey sympathy to the Party Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, National Assembly, government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, and fraternal Vietnamese people, especially to the family, relatives and friends of comrade Pham Van Khai.

Pham Van Khai joined the revolution in 1947 and the Communist Party of Vietnam on July 15, 1959.

He was former member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee of the V, VI, VII, VIII, IX tenures, former Politburo member of the VII, VIII, IX tenures, permanent member of the Politburo of the VIII tenure, former Prime Minister and National Assembly deputy of the VIII, IX, X and XI tenures.
