The COVID-19 infections in Laos continued to increase across the country with 1,140 new cases reported on Wednesday, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
The new infections have brought the total to 50,032 including 9,591 active cases and 91 deaths. The newly reported deaths were documented in Borikhamxay.
A total of 1,134 new community cases were recorded, with 671 in Vientiane, 157 in Luang Prabang, 71 in Vientiane (province). Meanwhile, six imported cases were recorded, with one in Savannakhet and five in Bokeo.
Yesterday witnessed 459 patients discharged from hospital.
