Some 622 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded nationwide over the past twenty four hours with the total reaching 22,441 including 5,271 active cases and 16 deaths.
Director General of the Department of Communicable Disease Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Rattanaxay Phetsouvanh told a press conference today that of these new confirmed cases, 610 were classified as local infections and 12 as imported cases.
Most of the local infections were recorded in Vientiane 315, Khammuan 152, Champassak 59, and Luang Prabang 35.
Vientiane (Province) reported 13 community cases with Bokeo logging 11, Borikhamxay and Saravan posting seven each, and Savannakhet detecting five. Luang Namtha and Xaysomboun reported three cases each.
The imported cases were documented in Savannakhet seven, Khammuan three, and Champassak and Saravan one each.
