Laos has recorded 999 new Covid-19 cases and nine new deaths attributed to Covid-19 over the past 24 hours with the total reaching 120,520 including 7,569 active cases and 457 deaths.

The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control told a press conference today that 996 out of the total were classified as community infections. Only three infections were classified as imported cases with two in Vientiane and one in Savannakhet.

Vientiane reported 427 daily cases, Xayaboury documented 85 and Vientiane (province) did 73. Meanwhile Luang Namtha posted 53, Phongsaly had 52, Xieng Khuang and Xaysomboun logged 40 each.

Some 321 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide yesterday, according to the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health.
