The Laos-Vietnam special friendship festival 2023 took place in Hue city in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue, Vietnam on Nov 11, and will last November 15.
The event is a part of the celebration of the 61-year diplomatic relations and 46 years of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between the two countries.
Attended by Mr Phosy Keomanyvong Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, his Vietnamese counterpart, Mr Nguyen Thanh Lam, and Mr Nguyen Van Phuong the Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee of Vietnam, and high ranking relevant officials of both sides.
The event aims to promote the image of Vietnam’s innovation and development and spotlight the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation by focusing on three pillars: strengthening Laos-Vietnam cooperation in the field of information and communication; boosting investment, trade and tourism promotion activities between the two nations in general and Lao and Vietnam border localities; and people-to-people exchanges, especially those in border areas.
A photo exhibition, a trade fair, a science seminar, and an art performance exchange are the part of the event.
These activities highlighted the history and development of the Vietnam – Laos, Laos – Vietnam special friendship, and outstanding achievements in information and communication cooperation between the two countries.
Two sides have discussed future cooperation on Lao and Vietnamese media so as to expand the existing cooperation in this area.
The festival is to contribute to further deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, said Mr Phosy.
