Minister has shared the strategic of the ASEAN cultural-social pillar community to ensure more effective teamwork in the implementation of national and regional strategic policies to ensure the collective and successful maximisation of benefits for the people of the 10 Southeast Asian nations.
ASEAN should develop the role of organisations in the region in order to strengthen the various sectors and coordinate with the rest in ASEAN to create unity in the implementation of various strategic plans and policies to ensure that our people benefit, Minister Suanesavanh said.
ASEAN should pay attention to promote and develop initiatives and support the roll-out of programmes related to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that are aligned with the Green Growth and Sustainable Development initiative under the purview of ASCC to create more robust development of a green economy.
ASEAN should strengthen human resource capacity building and increase new initiatives through ASEAN activities and programs. ASEAN must continue to further strengthen the ASEAN Community as a connected, resilient, adaptive, responsive, and forward-looking entity that can effectively address current conditions and emerging.
“The Lao PDR will hold the position of chairing the 2024 ASEAN Conference, I would like to propose to all ASEAN member countries as well as external ASEAN partners for cooperation and support,” said Minister.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the ASEAN member countries and the dialogue partner countries that have supported us in the past in preparing for the Lao PDR’s chairmanship of the ASEAN Conference,” said she.
“In order to chair the Lao PDR’s ASEAN meeting, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the Lao PDR is preparing to organize Lao Tourism Year 2024, which will include tourism festivals and various other activities for tourists to come and visit,” she added.
