Luang Prabang Half Marathon to Be Held in October

The 5th annual Run for Children � Luang Prabang Half Marathon � will be held in October this year in the world heritage town.

Luang Prabang Half Marathon has been called one of Asia’s top destination races by CNN Travel.

The route weaves through the golden temples and parallels the scenic Mekong and Nam Khan River.

Last year edition of the event drew over 900 runners. Yet the organiser expects even more runners this year.

Luang Prabang Half Marathon is a charity race for LFHC, which is a pediatric hospital in Luang Prabang. LFHC provides free medical care for all children in northern Laos.

All proceeds from this race will go towards providing better healthcare for the children of Laos.

The organizer has organized a fun weekend with a pool party, culinary adventures and a music concert to make sure the runners enjoy weekend in Luang Prabang after the race.

Details about the race are as follows:

21 km – 70/80 USD – International and 160,000 Kip – Lao National

14 km – 45/50 USD – International and 120,000 Kip – Lao National

7 km – 35/40 USD -International and 80,000 Kip – Lao National
