A 20-year-old man was charged Tuesday with crimes that took place three-and-a-half years ago, according to court documents. The charges against Austin James Barcinas include two counts of rape, perjury and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.
Barcinas was 16 at the time the alleged crime was committed.
In June 2012, police received a report regarding a 14-year-old girl at Guam Memorial Hospital, who was being assessed as part of a sexual assault complaint.
The girl’s father reportedly told police his daughter had been possibly drugged and sexually assaulted while staying the night away from home.
The father said the girl came home around 12:30 a.m. complaining of “extreme pain.”
When interviewed, the girl reportedly told police that after eating, she got a headache, felt drowsy and fell asleep, court documents state.
A nurse also reportedly told police the girl had suffered injuries.
