The Meeting of Young Parliamentarians of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) was held in Vientiane on October 20, 2024, as part of the 45th AIPA General Assembly. The meeting, presided over by Mr. Phonsan Vilaimeng, Vice President of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions, was attended by parliamentarians from ASEAN member countries.
During the meeting, participants discussed and considered three draft resolutions: the draft resolution on empowering youth to create a safe, strong, and inclusive community, the draft resolution on strengthening the participation of young parliamentarians in achieving ASEAN’s third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), and the draft resolution on increasing the role of AIPA’s young parliamentarians in the 9th International Young Parliamentarians Conference, particularly in advancing SDGs through digitalization and innovation.
The participants shared comments, deliberated on the proposals, and ultimately agreed to adopt all three resolutions.
