The Ministry of Health has classified villages into three zones – red, yellow and green – to ensure the prevention and control of Covid-19 in a manageable and realistic manner according to the current situation in each area.
Red zone refers to an area with at least one case of infection and the origin of the infection is unknown or a cluster of at least two cases reported over the past 14 days.
Yellow zone refers to a village with one case of infection reported and its origin traced over the past 14 days, or a village bordering a red village and its residents have had a close contact with the infected.
Green zone refers to a village without cases of Covid-19 infection and no people have had close contact with the infected over the past 14 days.
As for red zone, measures stated in Prime Minister’s Order No. 15 must be obeyed. Beauty parlours, barbershops, tourist attractions, restaurants, casinos, and games shops of all types must be closed along with processing industrial and handicraft factories, except the factories with dormitories located on their premises and factories manufacturing consumer goods, pharmaceutical products, protective equipment, and medical equipment and on the condition that their management strictly complies with the preventive measures of the taskforce committee.
Travel to yellow zones is possible as long as protective measures are strictly observed. Restaurants and cafés must provide take-home food service only as office employees must work from home. In case it is necessary for them to work at office they can do so on a rotary basis. No parties with more than five people are allowed. As for necessary events, a prior permission must be requested from the Taskforce Committee and measures imposed by the committee must be strictly observed. There are no security and patrol measures to interrupt entries and exits at border checkpoints between yellow and green villages. Preventive measures must be tightened at retail shops, minimarts, supermarkets, and other markets.
