Pakulee Yiacha from Xaysomboun Province has been crowned Miss Hmong Laos 2020 at a ceremony held in Samket, Sikhottabong district, Vientiane on Jan 3.
She was presented a crown worth 50 million kip and a 15-million-kip cash prize.
Pakulee Yiacha’s first runner-up was Pada Vang from Vientiane Province, who received a 10-million- kip cash prize.
The second runner up place was announced for La Vayongchua from Xieng Khuang. She was awarded an 8-million-kip prize.
Special awards were announced for other five beauties.
Miss Friendship was awarded to Vangthor Yiapaoher from Huaphan Province as Photogenic Award was announced for Xi Herchutou from Vientiane Province.
Ana Yakongpheng from Xieng Khuang was awarded Miss Beautiful Smile.
Soudaly Yangsay from Xieng Khuang and Padayang from Vientiane Capital were awarded Miss Popular Vote and Best Hmong Costume, respectively.
Each special award winner was awarded a 3-million-kip cash prize.
Miss Hmong Laos was launched in 2016 as part of Hmong New Year celebration. It aims to promote Hmong culture and open an opportunity for Hmong girls to show their self esteem, said Mr Soksay Song, Vice Chairman of the organizing committee of Hmong New Year.
We have successfully sent Miss Hmong Laos 2018 and 2019 to attend international events to promote cultural exchange in the region, said Mr Soksay Song.
