NA President attends 30th APPF

President of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihanh attended the 30th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-30) held on Oct 2 6 in Bangkok, Thailand, under the chairmanship of the Thai President of the National Assembly Chuan Leekpai.
the event was attended by parliamentary delegations from 24 countries, observer countries as well as representatives from regional and international parliamentary organizations.
The 30th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliament will be held on Oct 26 and 29 under the topic “The Role of Parliament in Accelerating Sustainable Development After the 2019 Coronavirus Cases”, with main topics such as the role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting security in the region.
The 30th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliament is a great opportunity for Member States to share and exchange ideas on the best ways to deal with COVID-19. And also includes other infectious diseases that will occur in the future
President of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihanh gave a speech in an official meeting theme “Promoting Parliamentary Diplomacy for Regional Security”.
The delegation of the Lao National Assembly will jointly consider and adopt the resolution of the 10th session on various issues in order to reaffirm the responsibility in the performance of duties and the important role of members of parliament in the Asia-Pacific region, such as political and security issues, economic, social, environmental and gender roles.
