President of the National Assembly Pany Yathortou received on Wednesday met with Vice President of Vietnam Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on the occasion of her visit to the Lao PDR between Jun 19-22 in response to the invitation of Vice President Phankham Viphavanh.
NA President highly valued the visit by the Vietnamese Vice President. The visit to Laos is the first overseas trip for the Vietnamese Vice President since she was appointed to the post in April 2016.
The host also appreciated the achievements made by the fraternal people of Vietnam under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and expressed gratitude to the Party, National Assembly and government of Vietnam as well as Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh for attaching attention to urging Vietnamese businesses investing in the Lao PDR improving investment in Laos thus contributing to the socio-economic development in Laos and enhancing the relations and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
Ms Pany also appreciated the organising of the 5th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of Vietnam.
Both sides also highly valued the relationship and cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of visits between senior officials of Laos and Vietnam which has contributed to enhancing the solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, governments and people of Laos and Vietnam.
The Vietnamese Vice President and her entourage also visited Lao Women’s Union and met its president Inlavanh Keobounphanh, Vientiane School for Gifted and Ethnic Students and laid a wreath at Unknown Soldiers’ Monument and visited That Luang, a well-known tourist attraction in Vientiane.
