KPL) The grand opening ceremony of the new building of the Institute of Sciences and Technology Management was held in Vientiane Capital on February 4.
Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc took part in opening the building which has been built at a cost of VND 98 billion.
Of the construction cost, VND 89 billion was granted by the government of Vietnam and VND 9 billion contributed by the government of Laos, according to Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam, Mr Chu Ngoc Anh.
The construction of this building started in September 2015 and was completed in December 2017.
The building will be used for research and training activities of the Institute of Sciences and Technology Management.
At the event, Minister of Sciences and Technology, Mr Boviengkham Vongdara highly valued the construction project as a symbol of cooperation in science and technology between the two countries Laos and Vietnam.
The minister also expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Government for its generous support and assistance to the Lao PDR especially to the Science and Technology sector.
