(KPL) Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs funded a three-week training course on Building Food Security for 14 Lao government officials from Jul 1-5.
The course, held at the Laos-Singapore Cooperation Centre, was conducted by Mr Ko Khee Hwee from International Business Dynamics Pte, Ltd, Singapore.
The course shared Singapore’s experience and policies in designing and managing a food security roadmap to achieve sustainable food security.
The course was conducted pursuant to the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI).
Under the IAI, Singapore conducts 20 to 30 courses a year at the Lao-Singapore training Centre in Vientiane, focusing on areas of public governance, finance, urban management, hospitality and tourism, civil aviation, as well as IT skills and the English Language.
About 600 Lao officials are trained each year and more than 13,000 Lao government officials have benefited from the Singaporean ministry’s various training programmes under the Singapore Cooperation Programme since 1993.
