Over 50 state officials, company staff, vendors and students have learned about the capital market in the Lao Securities Exchange.
The training course was held in Vientiane Capital on May 17, in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of the Lao Securities Exchange, Mr Vankham Voravong.
The objective of the seminar was to give an understanding of investing in shares, which is a form of long-term investment with a view of making a profit, said Mr Vankham.
The seminar aimed to give the general public a chance to become investors by providing knowledge and a better understanding of investment in shares and the importance of the capital market to the economy, including the benefits from the buying and selling of shares in the Lao Securities Exchange.
Participants learned how to open an account and benefit from buying and selling shares, and access the securities exchange and the Lao Securities Exchange as a new way of running a business and investment.
The stocks, including those of BCEL, EDL-Gen, LWPC, PTL and SVN, are now available for purchase.
