) Over 14.53 billion kip (US$15.6 million), including in cash and in kind, have been donated during the 11th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party by public organizations and business community to support the implementation of the 9th socio-economic development plan (2021-2025) of the government. Between Jan 7 and 15, 34 organisations and companies representing public and private sectors donated a total of 14.53 billion kip including 14.28 billion kip in cash and 254 million kip in kind.
“Various sectors have attached importance to making contributions on the occasion of the 11th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. This constitutes a significant contribution to the implementation of the 9th five-year socio-economic development plan (2021-2025),” said Mr Bounchom Oubonpaseuth, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, and Chairman of the Budget Subcommittee of the 11th National Congress of the LPRP.
The major donors included Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone and King Romans Group (Dok Ngiew Kham) 1.3 billion kip, ST Group and ST Bank 1.2 billion kip, and Lao Telecommunications Public 1.1 billion kip.
