MANILA: Six Filipino franchisors have sealed PHP750 million worth of deals in the Philippine Franchise Association’s (PFA) recent participation in an expo in Melbourne, Australia.
PFA director Sherill Quintana told reporters on the sidelines of the Franchise Asia Philippines 2024 International Franchise Conference in Pasay City Monday that most of these deals were closed by Filipino franchise brands in food segment.
She said these Filipino franchise brands are leveraging on Melbourne, being Australia’s culinary capital.
The companies that joined the recent franchising expo in Melbourne are Avocadoria, Bench, Cabalen, Miguelitos Ice Cream, Oryspa, and Shawarma Shack, the PFA executive cited.
Quintana said the six franchise brands already have international presence.
‘It was quite unprecedented because we were hoping that more than a dozen brands will be able to join. But due to time constraints and also logistics, we had six brands. But we were able to hit PHP750 million in terms of closed deals. Just for
the six brands alone,’ Quintana said.
PFA also urged the government to provide more support for the local franchise industry, especially in granting subsidies when participating in international trade shows.
Quintana said PFA members will also be joining the Fine Food Australia 2024 this week.
