Phoukhoun District Extended Relief Package

(KPL) A relief package including winter clothing and educational materials has been given to villagers of three villages namely Sam Yek, Phahoung, and Hintang in Phoukhoun district, Luang Prabang Province, as they are reportedly suffering from chilly weather.

The relief aid was presented to the beneficiaries by a group of volunteers led by Mrs. Mathida Savanphadusith, Mrs. Phetmany Bualivong, and Mrs. Chanthaviphone Mouanmany.

Phahoung and Hintang are the most remote areas of Phounkhoun district. They are located approximately 70 kilometers from the municipal centre of the district.

A number of people in the two villages are low income families, according to local authorities.

Cold weather has been expected for the next couple days, especially for people in the northeastern and northwestern parts of Laos, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The temperature will begin to get higher on Feb 16, 2018.
