PM holds phone talks with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang

Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh held phone talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang to enhance the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Laos and China in line with the four-good spirit.

PM Phankham expressed on behalf of the government and people of the Lao PDR gratitude to China for its support of Covid-19 prevention and control efforts in the Lao PDR and its provision of over one million doses of Covid vaccine to the Lao PDR.

He expressed his readiness to work closely with his Chinese counterpart to enhance the traditional relations between Laos and China and expressed congratulations on China’s great achievements in poverty eradication.

The two leaders highly valued the traditional relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in line with the four-good spirit between the two Parties, governments and peoples of Laos and China.

This year, designated as Laos-China Friendship Year, marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and China.

Both sides spoke highly of the results of cooperation for development purposes between the two countries in areas of basic infrastructure development, especially the Vientiane-Vangvieng-Luang Prabang-Boten highway the first phase of which has been completed and the Laos-China Railway which is expected to be completed by the year end.
